The staff - extremely friendly and warm. The restaurant - serves absolutely amazing food. The property- its done tastefully and a very unique experience. The Owner - an extremely humble and a thorough gentleman. Hardworking and super attentive to the needs of each guest. He persinally meets and greets with the guests at breakfast and lunch, ensuring the dining and overall experience at the resort-hotel is a memorable one, which we think is very endearing and an adorable gesture. Anecdotes from our stay- Our room was not as i had expected. The photographs i saw were different to the room i was alloted, and there were too many mosquitoes and noise from the streets. Any other resort would have simply said- it is what it is.. but not here. As soon as i informed the property manager, he escalated the matter to the owner, who immediately came to meet us and ensured that every little detail /expectation was taken care of for us and the rest of our stay was a memorable one. I was pregnant and requested for coconut water, which they did not have on their menu, but as soon as the owner heard about it, he ensured that not only got a coconut water then but also it was there each morning, at breakfast without fail. On the 2nd day of our stay my husband was feeling unwell and the staff took brilliant care of him, to ensure he got alright. It was extremely commendable.

very uniquely funky accommodation, loaded with a plethora of highly aesthetic antique (or, at least, antique-looking) artifacts/artworks/curiosities/etc. excellent location in the heart of jew town. spacious/stylish rooms containing some of the same type of artful pieces that u can view in their massive more-than-20-room store/warehouse/showroom adjacent to the hotel ... called "heritage arts" & under same ownership. the food was quite tasty, very generous in amnt, sophisticated/varied & carefully prepared. definitely worth the splurge! [note: rooms were advertised as accommodating only 2 adults ... but, by special request, there was no problem -- at reasonable added expense -- to add a 3rd very comfy adult-appropriate bed (not cot!) to our quite large & well-equipped room]

The South Indian breakfast was exceptional. The location of the hotel was perfect--on the harbor, easy walking distance to the Paradesi Synagogue, the Mattancherry Palace, and many shops. A 5-10 minute 3-wheeler ride away were several excellent restaurants and the Fort Cochin Beach with a long promendade along the water.. Staff at the hotyel were very friendly. The entire hotel is a fascinating antique shop. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, with good a/c, splendid bathrooms. All around great!

Exceptional Staff Made Our Stay Unforgettable During our recent stay at the Ginger House Museum Hotel, we were blown away by the exceptional service provided by the staff. The hotel manager George was incredibly efficient and welcoming, and we were provided with all necessary information on a daily basis. What stood out most was the attentiveness of the staff throughout our stay, especially the wonderful Martin! It's an unusual hotel in that it's designed around an adjoining antiques business, and there are wonderfully old antiques everywhere. Our room was impeccably maintained and it was obvious the staff took pride/care in their work. Little gestures like a mid-stay fruit basket were noticed and appreciated. Eating at the hotel's restaurant was another highlight, mainly due to the superb service. The waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast was almost overabundant! In every interaction, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and they consistently did it with warmth and kindness. It’s apparent that they genuinely care about their guests' experiences and strive to make each one exceptional. The team at Ginger House turned what could have been just another hotel stay into a standout experience through their dedication to service excellence. We will undoubtedly choose this hotel again during our next visit, and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Excellent accommodation, super comfortable and super clean. In a marvellous historic building. Flower filled garden. Huge room with views of the river, perfect balcony and a luxurious marble bathroom. Towels and linen perfect. Atmospheric riverside restaurant, serving beer and wine, wide menu and regular specials, particularly enjoyed the amazing seafood platter and the chicken curry with rice. Excellent and responsive reception staff, always charming and helpful. A big thank you to George who looked after us well and booked our onward travel to Munnar. Good Location in Mattancherry close to Fort Kochi and the water metro system. Short tuk tuk ride through winding streets to the attractions of Kochi fort

Highly recommended! I feel so lucky and greatful that I chose to stay here. I wanted to have the experience of a real heritage place and couldn't have picked a better one. The rooms and the architecture are unique and the whole place is decorated with antiques of exceptional beauty. It feels like a time capsule, like I was hosted at the house of the Maharaja. I really enjoyed the lake view and the restaurant. The breakfast had a variety of tasty Kerala food. My favourite part was the people. Everyone, from the owner and his family, to the concierge and the waiters was so friendly and helpful. They helped me find something I needed with pure pleasure and willingness in no time and took all the stress away while I was relaxing. I overheard the owner talking to the staff, saying "whenever you can be of service, it's good to help". This is the genuine attitude I experienced and the main reason I am looking forward to coming back!

This really is a very special hotel. You feel like you've stepped into another world. We saw some of the rooms and each of them is designed in a different style, always very appealing. There are numerous surprises, from the golden entrance door to the golden toilet bowl . Right next door is the seemingly endless antique store of the owner, who showed us his best pieces during a personal tour. We should also mention the beautiful restaurant right on the water and the very friendly staff. Martin is a treasure who greeted us every day with a smile and fulfilled every wish. Many thanks to Martin, George and the entire Ginger House Team! Don't miss out on this unique experience at a good price-performance ratio!

A Charming and Memorable Stay at Ginger House Museum Hotel My stay at Ginger House Museum Hotel in Kochi was a superb experience from start to finish. I had a beautiful room with a stunning view of the sea and backwaters, peaceful, scenic, and unforgettable. The restaurant, set against the same breathtaking backdrop, made every breakfast feel like a retreat in nature. The atmosphere was calm and pastoral, perfect for starting the day. The staff were exceptionally polite and warm. Martin, the hotel manager, always greeted me with a cheerful, welcoming smile, and the owner (whose name I regret forgetting) checked in on me daily, making sure I was comfortable and even keeping me company with genuine care. A special highlight was the antique shop inside the hotel, a true treasure trove filled with magnificent pieces, each with its own story. Wandering through it felt like stepping into a museum of art, culture, and history. It was a special stay in a unique place, full of charm and heartfelt hospitality.

Staying at Ginger House Museum Hotel was a truly special experience. The hotel is set right on the waterfront, offering a stunning view of the port and the fishermen returning to shore in the evening – a peaceful and authentic glimpse into local life. The restaurant, located just by the gulf, looks out over Willingdon Island and offers a beautiful setting for meals. The hotel itself is filled with rare and fascinating antiques, including an extraordinary 1,040-year-old boat that was once carried by 95 people to the shore – an impressive 32 meters in length. What made the experience truly memorable was the warmth and generosity of the owner and his family. Their hospitality made me feel completely at home, and I’m grateful for the personal and heartfelt connection. Highly recommended for those seeking a unique and soulful stay in Kochi.

From our very first contact, George was an exceptional host. He was responsive and helpful. He organised great trips, all at good prices. The hotel is extraordinary, owned by an antiques dealer, with every room unique. His massive showrooms are attached to the hotel, so, if that is your thing, you will be in heaven. We had three rooms and each were special. While full of antiques, there was still modern features like Japanese style electric toilet seats. The food was lovely and, unlike many places in the area, you could grab a cold beer. We loved our stay and will definitely return.
